How to Accept Bulk Order Requests on Shopify

November 3, 2026 · Wholesale, Quoting

Bulk buyers do not want twelve separate checkouts—or a blank email that says “need pricing on a mix of SKUs.” They need quantity floors, several products in one request, and room for a PO or ship window.

Souvely: Quotes & B2B supports that pattern with eligibility rules, a multi-product quote cart, and a merchant-controlled request form.

1. Decide what can be quoted in volume

In Rules, enable quoting for the products or collections you sell in bulk. Useful conditions:

  • Quantity minimums (line or cart, depending on how you configure the rule)
  • Collections (case packs, wholesale catalogs)
  • Customer tags for approved buyers

Keep true retail SKUs on normal Add to Cart if they should not enter the quote flow.

Block-level minimum quantity on the Souvely Quote button can raise the floor on that product template; rule-based MIN_QTY applies through eligibility for matching products.

2. Turn on the storefront quote path

Enable the Souvely Quote app embed (setup guide). Optionally add the product block for placement. Confirm an Enable quote rule matches your bulk catalog.

3. Let buyers build a multi-product quote cart

Eligible products can be added to the Souvely quote cart from the storefront. Shoppers submit once from /apps/quotes/cart instead of emailing SKU lists. The cart lives in browser storage for that shopper.

4. Require what sales needs on submit

Under Request form:

  • Name and email are always required.
  • Company, phone, PO, tax ID, and notes are on the form—require them with Require field rules when bulk orders must not arrive incomplete.
  • Enable shipping/billing if fulfillment planning needs addresses on the request.
  • Enable attachments for packing lists or artwork (PDF, PNG, JPG, WEBP within your configured limits).
  • Add custom fields (for example ship-not-before date, dock appointment notes).

Hypothetical bulk example

Example (illustrative): A food distributor enables quoting on “Case packs,” requires company + PO, and sets a rule minimum of 24 units on selected SKUs. A café buyer adds three case SKUs to the quote cart, enters PO-88421, and submits. Sales revises case pricing once and converts the accepted quote to a Shopify draft order for payment in Shopify Checkout.

Common mistakes

MistakeFix
No minimums → retail-sized “bulk” requestsAdd quantity conditions or block min qty
Incomplete requestsRequire PO/company via Rules; enable addresses if needed
Expecting tier prices at submitSubmit uses listed storefront prices; apply tiers when you revise the quote in admin
Mixing this with “hide all prices”Price hiding is a separate Unlimited concern—see hide wholesale prices

Plan notes

Unlimited quote requests are included on Starter ($14.99/mo) and Unlimited ($29.99/mo). Advanced storefront actions (hide price, replace ATC via advanced rules) need Unlimited or complimentary full access. See pricing.
